When will these wheels be available?
We plan to start shipping the wheels in August 2012. Pre-orders will be taken through Kickstarter,
the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects.
We have chosen Kickstarter's platform to gather production funds for the Steelie Wheels. You will be able to pre-order a set of wheels
by pledging an amount to the project, and as soon as our funding goal is reached, production begins.
The funding we raise through Kickstarter will pay for the following:
- Final Prototypes and Tweaks to make sure the wheels are as perfect as possible
- Injection Mold Tooling
- First Batch of Wheels delivered from the factory
- Amazon and Kickstarter Fees
- Packaging and Shipping
Cool wheels but what if I'm new to R/C cars?
If you have never raced an R/C car before, now is a great time to get started.
With today's technology, you can buy ready-to-run car kits that will easily do 50+MPH right out of the box!
I highly recommend checking out your local hobby shop to see some cars and kits first hand.
You might consider one of HPI's ready-to-run kits, like the
Sprint 2 Flux,
Sprint 2 Drift, and
Sprint 2 Sport.
